Priopti Strategic Review
The review as a starting point
A review is the starting point for structured improvement work in portfolio governance. It begins with a clear picture of how you steer your initiatives today.
The purpose is for the whole leadership team to get a shared picture of the portfolio. We visualize how well the initiatives align with the unit goals, how feasible they are, and which contribute the most value.
Three yardsticks, never merged into one number
Every initiative is measured against three yardsticks that are kept apart.
- Contribution to goals. The link from initiatives to unit goals to overall goals, and how strongly the initiative brings you closer.
- Decision criteria. The leadership team's own criteria for which initiatives and activities weigh most heavily.
- Feasibility criteria. Competence, capital and resolved dependencies. Not whether the initiative is good, but whether it can be done.
Decision criteria and feasibility criteria together make up your assessment criteria. They are set in the workshop, before the initiatives are known.
The review in three steps
Five weeks. Fixed price. Two half-days for the leadership team, check-ins with initiative owners, and we do the rest.
The goals, the criteria and the initiatives are yours.
The workshop. The whole leadership team in one room. The foundations are laid before the initiatives are known.
- The organization's goals and each leader's unit goals are presented.
- The leaders describe how they contribute to each other's and the organization's goals.
- The assessment criteria for selecting initiatives are presented, discussed and agreed on.
We meet each initiative owner, outside the workshop.
- Ongoing and queued initiatives and activities are listed and linked to the goals.
- The initiatives' responses to the assessment criteria are noted.
- The initiatives are assessed according to your own assessment criteria and visualized from each value-creating perspective.
The review meeting and the delivery.
- The leadership team gathers again and goes through the holistic picture, from all views.
- The leadership team simulates goal fulfillment as the organization's conditions change.
- The delivery is digital and live, a traceable decision record with the prioritization, the dependency map and a time-stamped decision point to follow up and compare against later.
A decision record that holds when someone asks why
Create time-stamped decision points that can be followed up and compared. A shared, traceable decision record, digital and live in the platform.
